Why would you travel?

When was the last time when you had the most fun? When was the last time you were in a spontaneous trip where you just pack everything in an hour, get in the car, hop in a plane and just go to the ultimate destination of your dreams? The stories and memories of such trips are the most fun to share.

Trips, vacations and travelling are things which one experiences and not just gets off a checklist. Let’s say it’s more about quality of the trips than the number of trips you’ve taken. Travel is a treat which gives one great joys. It may have plenty of challenges like financial limitations, family and work related commitments, destination accommodation, duration of stay and many other but none of these challenges can surpass the fun one has while travelling and quenching the wanderlust one has when seeing the world.

You know what makes travelling fun? Here goes…

Understand the World:

When one travels to another country, continent or region it gives them the chance to see other cultures, traditions and ethnicity of the area.
Imagine yourself in the situation where you meet other people, about whom you had no idea. Exhilarating isn’t it? Meet a complete stranger and in a completely different land. Try the delicacies and meals of that area. Explore the native taste and traditions. Food is something which is quite central and one of the most eminent element of the tradition of the place.

Travelling is eye-opening! It makes you a more humbled and grounded human being, because after experiencing what others experience around the world, one feels privileged.

Make friends: The people and travelling partners formed along the way of your escapade will turn out to be the most memorable people of your life. They might not be your best friends nor would they know you for long. You’ll fall in love with some of them. But these folks will help you understand yourself as a person. They will give a refreshing perspective about life.

Lingua Franca: It is the language which is created between the speakers, whose native language isn’t the same. So while you order your cuppa coffee in the strange land where you don’t know anyone an all you have is a travel guide, you’ll learn a new language (or learn how to order coffee in another language).

Adventure Venture: The appeal of the whole idea is to get an adventure, to awake you from within and get a once in a lifetime encounter which is worth sharing.

Understand the World within yourself:

Ibn-e-Battuta, a Moroccan traveler and scholar, said this about travelling:

“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

I won’t paint a false picture! Travelling isn’t easy, maybe the food there isn’t as per your choice, maybe you don’t speak the language, your hotel room doesn’t have clean sheets. But all these problems help you understand yourself. In the path of overcoming all the challenges, you will experience yourself. The experiences will push the limits of your comfort zone and lead you to become a better person who has learnt a lot more than before.

So now you know the fun and exciting part of the travels, so don’t let your fears get you down. Pack up your bags and happy travels!
